Hey guys! In my journaling with God this last week he gave me two poems and I wanted to share them with you. I don’t think I’ve written a poem since high school, (not generally my thing) so it was very apparent the Lord gave me the words.

Let me set the scene. It’s 6:15, my team alarm goes off at 6:45. I’m sitting with the Lord enjoying the stillness, I’m talking to him and giving him space to speak to me.

My poem to him:

In the quiet of the morning

I wake to you

In the quiet of the morning I breathe you in

As I dwell in your presence

I am filled by you

You sound of revelation and far off chirping

I abide in you

In the quiet of the morning I breathe you in

As I read your words

I am rooted in truth

You smell of pages and freshly brewed coffee

Jesus, in the quiet of the morning I find you

May I always wake to you

His poem to me:

I delight in you

I see you rightly

I search your heart and know you fully

The depths of you are not hidden from me

And still, I delight in you

You’ve been made pure my child

Shame had no place here

You were once a slave, but you are no longer

You have been made new

And I delight in you

Dance in that freedom daughter

You are fully known

Fully loved

A new creation

And I rejoice over you

You, are my greatest delight

I decided to share because so often I forget to stop and listen. I forget to be still and know. Wanted to encourage y’all to set aside time and space, to not only talk to the Lord but to anticipate his reply.
