I’m going on the world race because Jesus put this program on my heart over a year ago. Slowly but surely he broke down the walls of excuses I put up. Every excuse I made that this trip wasn’t for me, whether that was timing or my own qualifications, he spoke into and disproved. He used people in my life to encourage me that his plans are greater and that his power is made perfect in my weaknesses.

I’ve never been one to seek out discomfort and change but those are the seasons in which I grow the most. I’m choosing to step out in obedience and pursue the uncomfortable in order to strengthen my reliance on Jesus. I’m confident this trip will stretch me and my faith in ways I’ve never been before and that is why I’m going. I’m saying yes to this change I know will create a greater intimacy with the Lord of my life.

In Matthew 28 we are called to go and make disciples of all nations. While I am confident that we can share wherever we are, I am beyond excited to get to GO. I want to proclaim that Jesus is Lord, to share his love, to serve his people and make disciples. Stepping out in obedience means to boldly love his people.

This program is an incredible opportunity for me to strengthen my dependence on God and faithfully share his truth. I can’t wait to see what he does in and through me.
